Face Detection
Face detection is the process of automatically locating human faces in digital images. Our face detectors automatically detect all faces over a wide range of poses, sizes and imaging conditions, and have been trained to be robust to variations in lighting, background, ethnicity, age and gender.

Face tracking extends face detection to video sequences. In face tracking we exploit spatio-temporal continuity and learned motion models to associate individual faces across frames. Individuals in video are therefore represented as face tracks over time. The additional information present in videos (vs. still images) typically leads to even greater accuracy with face tracking than face detection by itself.

Face recognition is the process of automatically identifying people by face in an image or video. Our face recognizers measure the similarity between any pair of faces to determine if they are of the same person. Using novel statistical machine learning techniques, we have trained our recognizers to be accurate and reliable on low-resolution, uncontrolled image / video data.
