Face Recognition / Biometrics Researcher
Pittsburgh Pattern Recognition seeks a researcher to refine and improve algorithms for face recognition and face detection. Research will emphasize improving accuracy on consumer quality photographs and video. Qualifications include:
- Experienced in developing algorithms for supervised classification on “real-world” data (such as consumer photographs)
- Deep understanding of pattern recognition, machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, and relevant applied mathematics
- Strong research skills
- Good programming and software development skills

Software engineer
We are seeking someone who is passionate and skilled at making applications run fast. This is an exciting opportunity to optimize software to be used by millions of consumers. Platforms may include CPU, GPU, mobile devices (iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile), and DSP. The following skills are of interest, although applicants are not expected to be an expert in all areas:
- C / C++
- x86 assembly, including SSE instructions
- GPU programming (OpenCl, CUDA)
- Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP)
- Experience parallelizing algorithms across multiple servers
- Cloud computing
- Experience porting algorithms to mobile platforms
- DSP development
- Profiling tools (gprof, oprofile)
- Strong background in data structures and algorithms
- Background in image processing / computer vision
